ATutor 1.5.4RC1 released candidate is now available for download and testing. Thanks goes to all those who provided feedback during the Beta phase.

For those who plan to upgrade their current ATutor systems when the final release of ATutor 1.5.4 becomes available, which is only two or three weeks away, now is the time to install a test version of ATutor 1.5.4RC1 to help identify issues and report bugs. Please don't wait until final release before you do your testing. Bugs or issues reported then will not make it into the 1.5.4 release. Please report bugs to the Bug Reports Forum.

*Nominate your ATutor Project*
The second annual Mellon Awards for Technology Collaboration has been announced. There are several $100,000 and $50,000 US prizes available. This is an opportunity to add your own organization, *nominating your own ATutor work*. Where we can, we will comment on those projects to help with their chances of winning an award.

*Translate ATutor 1.5.4 Now*
It's that time again for ATutor translators to update the language packs with new language items added for the new release. There are only about 60 new items, so updating an existing language pack should not take long.

Though it is still possible to translate through the atutor.ca translation site, we are now encouraging translators to translate on their own ATutor installation, then export the language pack and post it to the atutor.ca Translation Forum. From there it can be reviewed by the ATutor team, added to the language database, and then published for everyone to use.

If you have not already discovered the new translation features in ATutor itself, translators can now import any of the partial language packs directly from the atutor.ca translation site. To import partial language packs, enable translation as described in the handbook, then through System Preferences>Languages>Translate, retrieve the languages you wish to update.
